      About Properfy

      What is Properfy?

One place for everything around your property. Tell us what you’re doing — buying, selling, moving, remortgaging or investing — and we’ll build your plan, connect you with regulated specialists and keep everything on track.

      Is it free to use?

Yes. Properfy is free for customers. You only pay for the services you choose, at the price you were quoted upfront.

Who will I actually be dealing with?

Independent, regulated specialists — conveyancers, mortgage advisers, surveyors, auction houses and removals firms. You’ll see who they are, who regulates them and their price before you commit.

      What happens to my details?

We only share your details with the specialists you choose, for the services you ask for. We never sell your data. Read our privacy notice.

Do I have to use every service?

Not at all. Your plan recommends what’s useful for your journey. Switch anything off, and add it back whenever you like.

      Jargon buster

      Exchange of contracts

The moment a sale becomes legally binding. The buyer usually pays a deposit and the completion date is fixed.

      Completion

Moving day, legally speaking. The money is transferred, ownership changes hands and you can move in.

      Agreement in principle

A lender’s estimate of how much they might lend you, usually based on a soft credit check. Also called a decision or mortgage in principle.

      Searches

Checks your conveyancer runs with the local council, water company and others — covering things like planning, flood risk and drainage.

      Chain

A line of linked sales and purchases that depend on each other. If one link is delayed, everyone waits.

      Freehold vs. leasehold

Freehold means you own the building and the land it stands on. Leasehold means you own it for a fixed number of years, and usually pay ground rent and service charges.

      Don’t search ten companies.

Tell us what you’re doing with your property. We’ll organise the rest — properly.
